Islamabad: Current year first anti-polio campaign kick started as per the ministry of health as many as 45 million children will be administered the polio drops in the campaign.
The campaign will continue from February 3 , today to February 9.
As many as 400000 trained polio workers will go to door to door for administering the polio drops.
The Coordinator for health Dr Mukhtar Barath said that it is national and moral duty of parents to administer polio drops to children less than five years of age.
He said that eradication of polio is foremost priority of the government.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif personal interest in the eradication of the polio is a reflection of the government determination.
In the leadership of the PM the war against polio is continued with full powers and consistency.
Dr Barath said that harmony among polio program and extended protected injection is being strengthened.
He said that our basic aim is to protect children from crippling diseases including polio while he appealed the parents to support polio workers and administer polio drops to your children mandatory.
