BRISTOL: The International Cricket Council (ICC) Cricket World Cup 2019 match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka has been called off without a ball being bowled due to persistent rain.

According to details, both teams have been awarded 1-1 point, which means Sri Lanka are up to third on the points table. Pakistan also have three points in three games, but Sri Lanka have a superior net run rate.

The game was scheduled to begin at 10:30 am local time (0930 GMT) but was eventually called off in the afternoon, with both teams being awarded a point.

Pakistan had started their World cup battle with a seven-wicket loss against Windies but bounced back against England by defeating the hosts by 14 runs.
