KARACHI: Bushra Iqbal, the former wife of renowned TV host Aamir Liaquat Hussain, announced on Saturday that Dania Shah is no longer Aamir’s widow, as she has been legally divorced from him.
Speaking to the media, Bushra emphasized that Dania admitted to leaking intimate videos of her late husband and should be held accountable for her actions.
“Dania frequently changes her statements,” Bushra remarked, revealing that her family has filed a complaint with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) against those involved in leaking Aamir’s videos and violating his privacy.
In a recent tweet, Bushra informed her followers about the family’s decision to submit a revision application to suspend the exhumation orders for Aamir Liaquat. The application has been filed with the court of sessions by Aamir’s daughter, Dua Aamir. “We are seeking to suspend the exhumation order of the late Aamir Liaquat,” she tweeted, expressing hope that Allah would resolve the matter favorably for her and her brother, Ahmed.
Dua’s attorney, Advocate Zia Ahmed Awan, explained that a magistrate had previously permitted Aamir’s burial without a post-mortem, as no evidence warranted one. The family is adamant about not wanting a post-mortem and has approached the sessions court following a high court directive. Awan stressed that the same court should not issue contradictory verdicts, as the earlier decision was made without considering the family’s perspective.
In contrast, Dania recently took to social media to demand a post-mortem for Aamir, criticizing both Bushra and Dua for seeking media attention after she called for the exhumation for forensic examination. “When Aamir died, Bushra avoided the media, but now she is using her daughter to garner sympathy,” Dania claimed.
The unfolding events continue to draw public attention as the family navigates the complexities surrounding Aamir Liaquat’s death and the aftermath.
