Islamabad (May 06, 2017): A constitutional petition seeking disqualification of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Isaf Chief Imran Khan for ‘censoriously lying to the nation’ was filed in Supreme Court on Saturday.
The petition has been filed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz MNA Danyal Aziz.
Naming Imran Khan and Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) as respondents, Aziz took the plea in his petition that Imran was continuously lying to the nation on Pamana issue.
“By lying to the nation he is violating Article 62 and 63 of the constitution and thus he is no more as ‘Sadiq’ and ‘Ameen’,” he added.
He pleaded the court to declare Imran Khan disqualified as member of the National Assembly for being no more ‘Sadiq’ and ‘Ameen’.
The petitioner has affixed news papers clippings and videos of TV interviews of Imran Khan.
