Deal or strikes in 24 Hours’: Trump issues stark warning ahead of Islamabad talks

WASHINGTON/ISLAMABAD: Donald Trump has issued a sharp warning ahead of the high-stakes Islamabad negotiations, saying the United States is prepared to launch military action against Iran if talks fail to deliver a breakthrough within the next 24 hours.

Speaking in an interview with the New York Post, Trump revealed that US naval forces are being rearmed with advanced weaponry, signaling readiness for possible escalation. He emphasized that while Washington is pursuing diplomacy, it is fully prepared to act if negotiations collapse.

“We’ll know within 24 hours,” Trump said, indicating a narrow window for progress. He added that if no agreement is reached, the US would deploy its military capabilities “very effectively.”

In a separate post on his platform, Trump took a hardline stance on Iran, claiming Tehran lacks leverage and relies on pressure tactics tied to global shipping routes. He also suggested that ongoing negotiations are Iran’s best option to avoid further confrontation.

The remarks come as global attention focuses on the Islamabad Talks, where US and Iranian officials are attempting to turn a fragile ceasefire into a lasting agreement amid rising regional tensions.
