Death Toll In Kabul Blast Rises To 48

Kabul (April 22, 2018): The death toll from Sunday’s blast in the Afghan capital Kabul rose to 48, with 112 others wounded, a public health officer said.

Daesh claimed responsibility for the blast set off by a suicide bomber outside a voter registration centre.According to the details, a suicide bomber killed at least 48 people and wounded dozens outside a voter registration centre in the Afghan capital Kabul on Sunday, the health ministry said, in the latest attack on election preparations.

According to reports, the explosion happened at an ID distribution and voter registration center at about 10am on Sunday morning in PD6.

Earlier, Afghan media reported that four people were killed and 15 others were wounded in the explosion.

Eyewitnesses said a number of ambulances converged on the area and security forces cordoned off the scene of the explosion.

This is the fourth attack in less than a week against the election process and no group has yet claimed responsibility for Sunday’s explosion.
