LAHORE: Health officials report 42 new dengue infections within the last 24 hours, signaling a continued rise in cases across Punjab.
The most affected areas remain Rawalpindi and Lahore, with several other cities also witnessing new cases amid increasing concerns over the dengue virus’s spread.
According to authorities, Rawalpindi has seen 21 new cases, while Lahore reported 6. Other districts such as Sahiwal, Faisalabad, and Sargodha recorded 4, 3, and 2 cases respectively. Additionally, Khanewal, Hafizabad, Vehari, Lodhran, Pakpattan, and Attock each reported one new case.
This year, Lahore has seen a total of 373 cases, Rawalpindi 968, and Murree 117 dengue patients. Overall, Punjab has documented 2,053 dengue infections so far in 2024.
