ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar has departed for Shanghai, China, on a two-day official visit to strengthen Pakistan’s engagement in international artificial intelligence cooperation.
During the visit, Pakistan will formally join the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization (WAICO) as a founding member, with Dar scheduled to sign the membership agreement on the country’s behalf.
The deputy prime minister will also participate in the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC), where he is expected to hold meetings with international leaders and stakeholders to discuss global collaboration on AI and advocate for inclusive, responsible and equitable AI governance.
