KARACHI: Digital advertising boards situated in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) were deactivated after being reportedly hacked and briefly displaying explicit content.
As per reports, the screens positioned along Khayaban-e-Ittehad and Abdul Sattar Avenue showed inappropriate material for a short duration before being switched off.
Footage of the compromised screens rapidly circulated on social media, prompting swift action from the concerned authorities to disable the displays immediately.
Officials revealed that, as a safety measure, several other digital billboards located on key roads within DHA, as well as on Shahrah-e-Faisal and Karsaz Road, were also temporarily shut down.
An investigation has been initiated into the matter by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), with officials gathering technical evidence to identify and apprehend those behind the hacking incident.
