Diljit Dosanjh receives threat from Khalistani group

WEB DESK: Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has received a warning from Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a US-based Khalistani separatist leader. Pannun has urged the Sikh community to boycott Dosanjh’s concerts.

In a video message, Pannun labeled Diljit Dosanjh as an agent of India and explicitly advised Sikhs not to attend his performances. Reports suggest the warning has taken on a more serious tone due to the presence of Khalistani slogans at some of Diljit’s previous concerts.

In response to this threat, security agencies both in India and internationally have been instructed to stay vigilant. Concert organizers have also implemented stricter entry controls to ensure safety and prevent any incidents.

It is worth mentioning that Pannun had earlier issued a similar warning before one of Diljit’s concerts in Canada earlier this year.

Despite such warnings, Diljit has continued to draw massive crowds. During his ‘Aura Tour’ in Western Sydney, he nearly sold out a 25,000-seat stadium, with ticket prices reportedly reaching as high as $800. Notably, he is the first Indian artist to headline stadium shows in Sydney and Melbourne and is now set to perform in Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth.
