Doing good is difficult, but doing wrong is easy in country: Nisar

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar has said that last government, during its regime, issued identity cards and passports to foreigners courageously, which were used in human trafficking, while the identity card of Mulla Mansoor went to Security Council.

Talking to media outside NADRA Headquarters in Islamabad, Chaudhary Nisar said that we are passing through very critical situation. Pakistani citizens were caught involved in terrorism abroad and caused defamation to Pakistan. He said that the previous government issued identity cards and passports to foreigners, which were used in human trafficking. Interior Minister said that doing good in Pakistan is very difficult and impossible, but when you want to do something wrong, it’s quite easy,  but government focused mainly on issuance of fake identity cards and despite criticism, it completed the task of verification in six months.

Interior Minister told the journalists that there was a huge pressure on him during reconfirmation process of identity cards and he was criticized in Assembly and media. He said that he along with honest NADRA officers blocked 0.4 million identity cards and cancelled over 32 thousand passports during past three years.

Chaudhary Nisar said that identity cards were not examined before 2011; hence this is a matter of our national security and there is no place for those selling national identity, therefore a committee is being formed for the restoration of those whose identity cards have been blocked, while blocked identity card will be restored from Revenue Department over presenting record earlier than 1978.

Criticizing opposition parties leaders, Nisar said that most of the record of Khanani and Kalia case has been wasted, while some people needed such heads of institutions who don’t clutch their corruption. Seniors are disregarding institutions. A judge is not anyone’s brother or relative nor a judge belonged to any party.
