KARACHI: Police have dismantled a well-organized theft ring after arresting five domestic workers accused of stealing from the home of an industrialist in the Ferozabad neighborhood.
Police said the arrests were made following a tip-off, leading to a targeted operation at a bungalow where all five women were employed. According to officials, the suspects had been working at the same residence for nearly nine years.
Investigators revealed that the women allegedly carried out systematic theft over an extended period, making away with cash and other valuable items from the house.
Police identified the gang’s ringleader as Urooj, who allegedly stole the key to a locker and later had a duplicate prepared for Rs3,000. Authorities said the copied key was then used to repeatedly access the locker as part of a planned scheme.
SSP East confirmed that police recovered hundreds of thousands of rupees in cash along with several mobile phones from the suspects.
