WASHINGTON: United states President-elect Donald Trump nominated Rex Tillerson as new secretary of state.
Rex Tillerson the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Exxon Mobil is said to be a close friend of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump chosen Rex Tillerson instead of Mitt Romney.
Rex Tillerson has been associated with a petroleum company Exxon Mobil for last 10 years. Exxon Mobil has trade links with above 50 countries and it has about 80,000 employees.
The president elect had already nominated General (R) James Mattis as defence minister. He had led US army in Afghanistan and Iraq.
