National carrier Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has decided to lay off 11000 employees to tackle ever increasing financial crisis.
The PIA’s management has started thinking downsizing at larger scale. It is likely that as many as 11000 employees will be shown the doors which included employees crossing age of 57 and directors sitting in home.
Sources said that a list has been prepared of more than 400 workers having fake degrees for termination.
It is matter of surprise that the PIA can be run with 6 to 7 thousand employees while presently as many as 18 thousands employees are working in the national carrier.
Chairman PIA said that a policy in making to run the affairs of the PIA in future adding that the institutions is continuously at loss, henceforth, downsizing is under consideration .
