Dozens of flights canceled at Netherlands’ Schiphol airport due to storm

WEB DESK: Air operations at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport have been significantly impacted by strong stormy winds. On Saturday, a total of 80 incoming flights and more than 70 outgoing flights were canceled.

The meteorological agency has issued a warning that winds of up to 90 kilometers per hour are expected in various parts of the Netherlands, which may lead to further flight cancellations and delays.
Airport authorities are advising passengers to check the latest status of their flights before heading to the airport, as there is a risk of more cancellations or delays on Sunday as well.
According to the administration, airlines are struggling to maintain their schedules due to the severe weather, and thousands of passengers have been affected.
Schiphol Airport, known as the busiest air hub in Europe with an average of over 1,000 flights operating daily, is currently facing significant disruptions to its flight operations because of the adverse weather.
