NEW YORK: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephonic discussion with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Monday, focusing on important bilateral relations, tariffs, and regional as well as global concerns.
This follows Dar’s recent meeting with Rubio in Washington, where both leaders exchanged views on various regional and bilateral topics.
Rubio praised Pakistan’s efforts and sacrifices in combating terrorism and commended its role in promoting regional stability and peace.
Expressing a strong desire to deepen cooperation, Dar highlighted ongoing US-Pakistan trade dialogues and described Pakistan as an appealing destination for American investors. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening the relationship and emphasized shared interests on regional peace initiatives.
Dar also underscored the significance of the Pakistani diaspora in the US, viewing it as a crucial link between the two nations. Both leaders reaffirmed their dedication to expanding bilateral collaboration across multiple sectors to foster mutual growth and stability.
