ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar is scheduled to travel to New York tomorrow to take part in a high-level United Nations Security Council briefing focused on the ongoing situation in Palestine. The session will be presided over by the British Foreign Secretary, who is currently serving as the President of the Security Council.
In his address, Dar is expected to reaffirm Pakistan’s unwavering and principled stance on Palestine. He will strongly oppose Israel’s recent unilateral moves to expand its presence in the West Bank and will call for an immediate and lasting ceasefire in Gaza. Additionally, he will emphasize the importance of fully implementing Security Council resolution 2803, increasing humanitarian aid efforts, and initiating the recovery and rebuilding process in Gaza as soon as possible.
During his visit, the Deputy Prime Minister will also engage in bilateral meetings with various counterparts to discuss issues of mutual interest and strengthen diplomatic ties.
