Islamabad (May 22, 2017): Indian national Dr Uzma, who is at the centre of the case surrounding marriage to Pakistani man Tahir Ali, has submitted the medical report of her daughter Falak at the Islamabad High Court.
A bench, headed by Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, was hearing the case on Monday.
Uzma pleads the court to allow her to go to her native India to tend her seriously ill daughter. The 40-page report, submitted by Indian High Commission through Dr Uzma’s counsel Shahnawaz Noonn include the medical certificates of ailing Falak. According to report Falak is seriously ill from Thalassemia. The staff of the Indian High Commission was also present in the court during the hearing of the case.
The court asked Uzma’s husband, Tahir Ali, if he has in his possession Uzma’s original immigration form to which he replied yes. The court then ordered him to submit a duplicate form to the court’s registrar’s office by Tuesday.

Ali’s lawyer also remarked that him and Uzma are a married couple and they should be allowed to meet. Upon this, Justice Kayani remarked that Uzma will be asked if she wants to meet her husband or not. The court ordered that Uzma should be brought to the court from the Indian High Commission in police security on Tuesday.
Dr Uzma had filed a petition under Section 506 of Pakistan Penal Code that pleads that Tahir Ali had harassed her and maltreated her. In addition, Uzma claims that Tahir Ali had also snatched her immigration documents.
The case of Uzma’s marriage to Ali became more confusing as it was unraveled in front of the media.
Uzma, who belongs to New Delhi, and Ali fell in love in Malaysia, after which Uzma travelled to Pakistan on May 1 via the Wagah border, and got married to him on May 3, according to Ali.
The conflict arose when Ali claimed that the Indian High Commission has stopped his wife from leaving the premises after they went there to apply for a visa on May 7. However, Indian authorities said Uzma is residing there out of her own free will.
Following this, Uzma remarked while talking to the media that she was forced to marry Ali at gunpoint. She further remarked that she was unaware that Ali was already married and a father of four.
However, these claims were challenged by her husband, who even provided details of a private conversation in which Uzma seemed to know about his first marriage.
Moreover, their Nikkah video also surfaced in which there were no signs of violence or intimidation.
