PESHAWAR: A Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) was gunned down by unknown armed men on Charsadda Road in Peshawar.’
Unknown armed men opened fire on the DSP Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Riazul Islam when he was coming out from a mosque along with his son.
Islam died on the sport while his son received bullet injuries. Police cordoned off the area and started search to arrest the attackers.
The body and injured were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital. The condition of the injured son of the DSP is stated to be critical.
Police said that the attackers after the incident fled toward Khazana area.
Eyewitness said that one of the two attackers was inside the mosque while the other was waiting outside.
They said that the attacker inside the mosque targeted the DSP from behind him.
