Earthquake sequence in Karachi extends to 32 shakes with two more felt today

KARACHI: Two more tremors felt in Karachi, bringing the total number of earthquake recorded by 32, since June 1.

According to the Meteorological Department and Chief Meteorologist Ameer Haider Leghari, since June 1, the city has recorded 32 minor tremors with magnitudes ranging from 1.5 to 3.6.

In a media briefing, Ameer Haider Laghari stated that the latest tremor was recorded at 8:32 AM today, with a magnitude of 1.5 and a depth of 2 kilometers.

He further mentioned that, these tremors were reported from areas including Do Darya, Gaddap, Malir, D.H.A., and Korangi.

Earlier this morning, two other tremors were also felt in the city.

According to the Meteorological Department, the first tremor of the day occurred at 4:46 AM, with a magnitude of 2.7 and a depth of 2 kilometers. Its epicenter was located 20 kilometers south of D.H.A. in Defence.

The second tremor was recorded at 7:58 AM, with a magnitude of 1.8 and a depth of 8 kilometers, centered approximately 7 kilometers northwest of Malir.

Experts warn that, the series of tremors may continue, and residents have been advised to stay cautious. The Meteorological Department and relevant authorities are continuously monitoring the situation.
