ECP asks govt to provide Rs 42 billions for holding of general elections

Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has asked the government to provide a whopping sum of Rs 42 billion for holding of general elections in the country.

Following the insistence of the ECP the Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has called Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) meeting today.

An amount of Rs 200 million can be approved for the secretariat of Special Investment Facilitation Council ( SIFC).

It is pertinent to inform that coalition government has agreed to dissolve assembly on August 8. After which a period of three months will be given for the caretaker government.

After conclusion of three-months the general elections will be held across the country.
