ECP once again extends timings of allotting election symbols to parties owing to SC verdict

Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for once again extended timing of allotting the party symbols as the party symbol will be allotted till 10: 30 pm today, the ECP spokesperson said.

The Spokesman of the ECP said that the electoral body extended the timing in the waiting of the the SC verdict on its appeal against the Peshawar High Court (PHC) verdict against its judgement for allotting the bat symbol to the PTI.

It is third time that the ECP has extended the timings today.

On the other hand, the staff of the Supreme Court (SC) has apprised that the SC will pronounce the verdict on the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) appeal against the Peshawar High Court (PHC) judgement for allotting the bat symbol to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf at 9:30 pm.

The Supreme Court of Pakistan after hectic day reserved the verdict on the Election Commission of Pakistan plea against the Peshawar High Court (PHC) verdict against the verdict of the ECP and allotting of the bat symbol to the PTI.

A three member bench of the SC headed by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa comprising Justice Musarat Hilali and Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar.

After conclusion of the hearing the CJ said that both the side contended the best arguments.

He said that for reaching the results and absorption of the arguments we need some time.

The CJ said that the verdict will be announced today shortly.
