Islamabad: Election Commission of Pakistan on Thursday has issued a clarification regarding the foreign funding case against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
The ECP urged to avoid comments unnecessary and without facts. The ECP said that an action against foreign funding case is continued under the scrutiny committee so that the commission could pass verdict as early as possible with concentration.
It further informed that the hearing of the case is already being conducted in front of respondents adding that the power and authority of the scrutiny committee is equal to a JIT.
Informing about the process of the scrutiny committee it said that complainant and defendant present their
views on different matters. While the scrutiny committee will make a composite report after conclusion of proceedings and later it submit the report to the commission.
The commission will present these recommendation to both the parties in the open hearing.
It clarified that after listening arguments of both the sides, the case will be decided on a merit.
