Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday issued a notification for holding of elections on Senate seats from Khyber Pakhtunkhawa after a hiatus of one year and three months.
The notification has been issued for an election on senate seats for seven general seats, two women seats, two technocrats/cleric seats.
The polling will be conducted on July 21 at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly.
The ECP apprised that the elections for the Upper house of parliament were postponed on April 2, 2024 owing to not completion of an electoral college and not taking oath by members provincial assembly elected from the reserved seats.

The ECP also issued an election program for an election on senate seat vacated by Sania Nishtar.
While a public notice will be issued on July 9. Whereas the submission of nomination papers dates are July 10-11.
The checking of the nominations papers will be conducted on July16 whereas the polling will be held on July 31.
Election Program for Seat lied vacant after death of Sajid Mir
Besides that a notification also issued for a seat lied vacant after the death of Sajid Mir.
The returning officer will issue candidates reviewed list on July 15. The nomination papers can be withdrawn from July 16.
The polling will be held on July 21 in the Punjab Assembly.
Election Program of Two vacant seats of women reserves seats of PML-N in NA
Moreover, an election program for an election on two vaccant reserves seats for women of Pakistan Muslim League-N in the National Assembly has also been issued.
The returnign officer will issue a public notice on July 8 while nomination papers can be submitted on July 9 and 10 .
Whereas checking of the nomination papers will be conducted on July 14 while the candidates final list will be issued on July 24.
