Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday said that the election body is not answerable to any body over its constitutional rule adding that the ECP fully active to make the upcoming elections transparent.
The ECP Chief Election Commissioner, CEC, Sultan Raja presided a meeting in which it was said that the legal action will be taken against the candidates having people with arms.
The CEC issuing orders to the chief secretary Punjab, Inspector General (IG) Punjab and respective institutions that a peaceful environment to be made sure during the by-polls on 20 seats of the Punjab Assembly.
Responding to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan speech, the ECP spokesperson said that the ECP is not a political party.
The spokesperson said that the Chief Election Commissioner used to busy for holding the coming general elections.
