PTI counsel Anwar Mansoor Khan while advancing arguments on an application moved by PTI seeking the Commission to stop hearing of funding case pleaded the ECP not to hear the case till disposal of a a similar case pending before the SC.

In his arguments, Mansoor said that ECP was itself a party in the party funding case being heard by the apex court. So it’s better ECP should not heard the case till the disposal of the matter by SC, the counsel urged.

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice (retd) Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan said the party should file a petition seeking discontinuation of hearing in the Supreme Court.

The party has failed to submit details of its accounts and funds to the ECP since the past two years, however, it has submitted the records to the Supreme Court.

The ECP bench reserved decision on the PTI counsel’s plea. The bench said the decision would be announced later today.

Talking to media, PTI leader Naeem-ul-Haque claimed that hundreds of thousands Pakistan donate funds to PTI and many of them were dual nationals.

He said that PTI had not concealed its funding rather it was willing to disclose its funding and its sources.

In 2014, Babar filed a petition seeking disqualification of PTI Chairman Imran Khan for allegedly obtaining funding from illegal sources and discrepancies in the party’s accounts.
