ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday emphasized that education serves as a cornerstone for nation-building. His remarks came during a significant meeting of the Board of Trustees for Danish University in Islamabad.
During the session, the Prime Minister instructed that the construction of the Danish University building be undertaken with simplicity while maintaining a dignified design. Highlighting the university’s purpose, he stated that it would focus on advancing technology and modern sciences.
He directed the development of a comprehensive strategy to ensure world-class research standards and the recruitment of exceptional faculty members. Additionally, he emphasized that contractors with solid reputations and relevant expertise should be selected for the construction process.
Shehbaz Sharif stressed the need to provide talented and deserving students from remote regions, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir, with opportunities to gain admission to Danish University. He also pointed out the importance of creating awareness about the institution among students in government schools.
During the meeting, it was revealed that a Project Management Unit for Danish University has been established. The university’s charter has already received approval from the Ministry of Law and Justice and will soon be forwarded to the Cabinet and Parliament for final consent.
The Board was informed about plans to launch nationwide outreach programs related to the university. In its initial phase, a Center of Excellence tailored to contemporary needs will be set up at Danish University, and training camps will be organized across the country to support admissions for deserving students.
Furthermore, it was noted that internationally acclaimed education experts have been engaged to design the academic framework and vision for the university.
