LAHORE: Across Pakistan’s provinces, millions of Muslims marked Eid-ul-Adha with heartfelt prayers, sacrifices, and a collective call for peace, security, and prosperity.
The day began with widespread congregations at mosques and open grounds nationwide, reflecting the deep-rooted spirit of sacrifice, compassion, and unity inspired by the teachings of Prophet Ibrahim (AS).Major Eid Prayers and GatheringsThe largest Eid congregation took place at Islamabad’s Faisal Mosque, where Dr. Muhammad Ilyas led the prayers, drawing a substantial crowd from Rawalpindi and Islamabad’s twin cities. In Lahore, thousands assembled at key sites like Data Darbar, Minar-e-Pakistan, Jamia Naeemiyah, and Mansoora. Notable religious scholars, including Mufti Ramzan Sialvi at Data Darbar and Allama Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer at Greater Iqbal Park, led the prayers, witnessing significant turnout and communal harmony.

In Quetta, the main Eid congregation was held at the Governor House, attended by Balochistan Governor Sheikh Jafar Mandokhel and senior officials amid heightened security. Similar arrangements were seen across cities like Peshawar, Jamrud, and Rawalpindi, where security was tight, with police and Rescue teams ensuring crowd safety.Citizens gathered at various localities, including Sukkur’s Public School grounds and Hyderabad’s Qasimabad, to pray and listen to scholars preach about sacrifice and patience.
Across Pakistan, millions of animals were sacrificed in accordance with Sunnah, with meat distributed among relatives, the poor, and the underprivileged, embodying the spirit of giving and compassion.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif offered Eid prayers at a mosque in Lahore’s Model Town, joining family members and greeting fellow worshippers. Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari performed Eid prayers at the Presidential Palace mosque.
