Gilgit-Baltistan: Unknown person opened fire on a bus on the Karakoram Highway in Chilas area of Gilgit-Baltistan, as a result the bus had accident and 8 people died.
According to the police, the incident of firing on the bus took place near Hador, as a result of which the bus collided with a truck and the bus caught fire.
Deputy Commissioner Arif Ahmed said that there were 26 passengers in the bus, 8 people died and 16 were injured in the incident.
According to the police, the passenger bus was going to Rawalpindi from Ghazar district, rescue teams have been dispatched to the accident site.
Deputy Commissioner Chilas said that the bodies and the injured have been shifted to Regional Headquarters Hospital Chilas.
Gilgit-Baltistan Interior Minister Shams Lone, while holding a press conference with special assistants, said that firing on a passenger bus near Chilas is open terrorism.
