Election process training suspended on court order

Lahore: The training of election staff was suspended on the order of Lahore High Court, the Election Commission has sent a letter to the four provincial election commissioners

The Election Commission has stopped the training of District Returning Officers and Returning Officers to implement the decision of Lahore High Court. A letter has been sent to the four provincial election commissioners. The Election Commission says that PTI, which challenged the appointment of ROs and DROs, is not responsible for the current situation. The reports of the decision to approach the Supreme Court are fabricated. The future course of action will be decided soon.

The Election Commission has said that it has completed all the arrangements to hold the election on February 8, the allegations of Chairman PTI are a failed attempt to mislead the people, District Returning Officers and Returning Officers have been appointed across the country. Training of DROs and ROs had also started, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf challenged the appointment of DROs and ROs, Election Commission cannot be held responsible for the current situation.

The Election Commission spokesperson further said that the training is necessary before the election schedule so that nomination papers can be issued and received as soon as the schedule is announced. The situation after the suspension of the appointment of DROs and ROs has been considered, the Election Commission has not taken any decision to approach the Supreme Court on the decision and all such reports are fabricated. The future course of action will be decided in this regard soon. The spokesman further said that the Election Commission is following a comprehensive plan regarding the conduct of transparent elections, and all the goals regarding the conduct of the elections are being completed on time.
