Islamabad: The electricity shortfall climbed to 5000 MW after uptick in the mercury across the country.
The demands of electricity stands at 22000 MW and while generation only stood at 17650 MW.
It is pertinent to mention here that owing to extension project of Tarbela dam’s eight power units are closed already.
The National Disaster Management Authority has warned of heatwave from tomorrow.
According to an advisory by NDMA, the heatwave conditions in Punjab and Sindh are likely to be severe from Thursday till Monday next.
In view of heatwave and its hazardous impacts on health, people are advised to take precautions and avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight.
The farmers are advised to manage their crops and adjust their routines in line with the weather conditions.
Livestock owners have also been advised to protect their cattle during extreme heat.
