Across the country, overall electricity shortfall has reached to the highest level in the history, as hydro power production has been limited to 35,000 MW due to limited discharge of water while overall shortfall has reached to 8,700 MW.
Due to increase in demand of electricity, shortfall of electricity has reached to the highest level of 8,700 MW across the country.
According to the sources of Ministry of Water and Power, aggregate demand is 21,700 while supply is 13,000 MW.However, according to sources, duration of load shedding in rural areas is 14 hours while electricity would be closed for 10 hours in urban areas.
