10 Million Fine For Violation Of One Square Foot: CJP

Islamabad (September 12, 2018): Chief justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar has remarked during illegal construction of homes on agro forms, those who encroached will have to pay 10 million for one square foot and money will be included in dam fund.

According to details, three member bench headed by CJP justice Mian Saqib Nisar heard a case regarding illegal construction of homes on agro farms.

CJP remarked that agro farms were given for the other purposes but palaces were built, these agro farms were for the poor people but wealthy people occupied them.Counsel Aitzaz Ahsan told the apex court that there can be only 20 percent construction on agro farm’s plot.

Supreme Court allowed to construct on 9500 square foot and ordered to demolish extra construction.

Defense Lawyer argued that how one can demolish the extra construction, if there will be large scale demolition whole building will be destroyed.CJP remarked that those who encroached will have to pay 10 million as a fine for one square feet of illegal construction and money will be included in dam fund.

He said that Supreme Court will not allow changing the names of Bhasha dam and Mohmand dam, dam fund is on the name of Supreme Court and no one can occupy on the fund, apex court is guard of dam fund.
