LAHORE: Punjab Assembly (PA) session could not be run for long due to lack of quorum while during the session it was revealed that as many as 120 toddlers were captive along with her mothers in Punjab jails.
The Punjab assembly session started one hour 45 minutes late in the chair of the deputy speaker Sardar Dost Muhammad Mazari.
During question hours provincial minister for prisons Zawar Hussain could not reply satisfactory answers over questions asked by the opposition benches.
At the occasion, the session was told that as many as 615 children were captive in jails including 120 toddlers along with her mothers.
The opposition asked a query that how many camps have been held for HIV patients in jails since July 2018 over which the minister could not satisfy the opposition.
The Minister for prisons said that the provincial government was going to hold medical camp in jail in March 2019 where tests for HIV screening will be conducted.
The session approved a unanimous resolution demanding the construction of two-lane Indus highway from Kashmore to Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan).
The session was continued in meantime the opposition pointed towards quorum to which deputy speaker Dost Muhammad Mazari adjourned the session till 9.am Friday morning.
