BAGDAD: At least 126 civilians have been killed in Iraq as coalition forces closed to Mosul and fighting turned fierce between the Iraqi-led coalition forces and Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL).

Mosul is believed the last major strong hold of ISIL in Iraq. Those killed within two days were used as human shields against attacks on ISIL and the militants dumped the corpses in a mass grave at the defunct College of Agriculture in northern Mosul, said international media.

While more than 1,000 people were effected of toxic fumes as IS set a Sulphur plant on fire in Mosul.

Iraqi Prime Minister refused Turkey’s offer for assistance and said that they could fight their country’s fight their selves. United States Secretary of Defense Ash Carter arrived in Baghdad.
