KABUL: At least 14 people were killed and more than 25 injured in a suicide attack on a shrine in Kabul.
While Afghan forces claimed to have killed two accomplices of the suicide attacker. They said that assailants opened fire on the Ashura observers right after the suicide attack and attempted to make them hostages in the west of Kabul city.
The assailants targeted the shrine of Imam Ali in the vicinity of Karte Sakhi area of the city. According to Afghan media, Interior Ministry spokesman Sediq Sediqi confirmed that the area had been cleared and the last attacker was shot dead.
