West Indies put brakes on a flying start by Pakistan with two quick wickets after opting to bowl first, as the City of Lights lit up to welcome the return of international cricket after a hiatus of nine years.

West Indies had their first breakthrough as pacer Emrit removed Babar Azam for 13-ball 17, with Pakistan at 46-1.

Fakhar Zaman hit 39 off 24 balls before he was run out, leaving Pakistan at 65-2 in the eighth over. Pakistan set 204-run target for West Indies in the first of the three-match T20 series at National Stadium tonight.

Pakistan Scripts Second Biggest Win In T20I HistoryIt is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan rewrote several records of the T20I cricket with an epic 143 runs win against West Indies on Sunday in Karachi.

143 runs – Pakistan’s win margin – is the second biggest win by any team in the international T20s and biggest by a team against a full member team. The biggest ever win in T20Is by runs was achieved by Sri Lanka when it defeated Kenya by 172 runs in World T20 2007.

Subsequently, this is also Pakistan’s biggest victory in terms of runs margin. The previous was by 103 runs against New Zealand in 2010 at Christchurch.
