1st Test: South Africa Need 149 Runs To Win Against Pakistan

Centurion (December 28, 2018): Disappointing performance by the middle order batsmen left Pakistan in such a weak position and only set the 149 run target for South Africa to win the first Test at Centurion Park.

South Africa will have to wait the third day to start their batting as the second day closed at the end of Pakistan Innings.

The fifties of Shah Masood and Imamul Haq went in vain after the dismal performance by the batsmen.

Duan Olivier added to his six-wicket haul in the first innings with 5 for 59 in the second to record match figures of 11 for 96 – the third best figures in Tests at this ground.Proteas were restricted to 223 on day two of the first test match after Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Amir claimed four wickets each.

South Africa resumed batting at 127-5 on the second day of the first Test against Pakistan at SuperSport Park today.

Pakistan fought back after being bowled out for 181 as bowlers dominated on the opening day of the match.

Pakistan pacers held the hopes alive by grabbing top order of South African batting as they were made 147/5 at stumps of the first day of the first Test match at Centurion on Wednesday.Shaheen Afridi and Muhammad Amir hunted two proteas and brought Pakistan back on the front while Hassan Ali grabbed opener  Makram.

In the first innings of Pakistan batting, despite Babar Azam’s brave knock, South African bowlers ripped through Pakistan batting line up and bundled them out at 181.

Oliver led the Proteas fast bowling attack bay grabbing six wickets only given away 37 runs in 14 overs.
