LISBON (May 06, 2017): Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has become the first sportsperson, and first ‘man’ to reach 100 million Instagram followers.
According to details, Cristiano achieved this milestone in the same week in which he scored a fabulous hat-trick, 47th of his illustrious career, for Real Madrid against Atletico in Champions League match. Real Madrid triumphed 3-0 over city rivals Atletico.
The football star also completed his 400 goals for Real Madrid recently. Ronaldo’s club honored him by presenting him a jersey with his name and number of 400 printed on it.
It is worth mentioning here that Cristiano Ronaldo is still behind Selena Gomez, who has 119 million Instagram followers, Ariana Grande (104m), Taylor Swift (101m) and Beyonce (101m), however, the 32-year-old has gone ahead of Kim Kardashian (99m). Let it be known that all these celebrities that have more followers than Ronaldo are females.
When we take a look on the list of top ten athletes with most Instagram followers, Cristiano Ronaldo with 100 million followers is followed by Neymar (74m), Lionel Messi (70.8m), James Rodriguez (30.7m), LeBron James (29.9m), Gareth Bale (28.8m), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (24.7m), Ronaldinho Gaucho (22.5m), Luis Suarez (21.9m) and Karim Benzema (18.2m).
