Islamabad (May 18, 2017): Opposition leaders have criticized the government on Thursday after International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruled in favour of India regarding convicted Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav’s case. Both PTI and PPP converged on seeking reply from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in National Assembly about the case and demanded to organize a National Security Committee (NSC) meeting to discuss the issue in detail.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker Shafqat Mehmood said that Government’s failure is visible. He even accused the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leadership of ‘deliberately’ planning a weak strategy for Kulbhushan Jadhav’s case in ICJ against India.

Earlier, Talking to Media in Islamabad, Former Foreign Minister and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Sherry Rehman said government remains stuck in Panama Leaks case, adding that the case pertaining to national security was ‘mishandled’.

ICJ ordered not to execute Kulbhushan until the final verdict by ruling, “Pakistan shall take all measures at its disposal to ensure that Mr Jadhav is not executed pending the final decision in these proceedings.”

Demanding National session on Kulbhushan Jadhav she said that government was not well prepared to present the case in ICJ as the issue should be raised in UN.

“Government showed ineligibility over Kulbhushan Jadhav issue in International Court of Justice (ICJ) and present the case without required homework and weak manners,” she said while addressing press conference along with other party leaders.

She said Pakistan’s counsel should informed the court regarding the terrorist activities of the Kulbhushan Jadhav, in which he was indulged.

“Why he completed the arguments in 50 minutes rather given 90 minutes,” she asked adding that the issue was concerning to national security and all political parties united on the issue.

She mentioned that Foreign Office did not brief political parties over the issue and if that has happened the result might have been different.

India had earlier moved to ICJ against Kulbhushan Jadhav s death sentence which was confirmed after Pakistan trying him through Field General Court Martial (FGCM) under Pakistan Army Act (PAA). He was proven guilty after confessing that he was tasked by RAW to plan, coordinate and organize espionage and sabotage activities aiming to destabilize and wage war against Pakistan in Balochistan and Karachi.
