Hurt Proteas Ready to Face Pakistan In 2nd ODI Today

DURBAN: Hosts South Africa will be playing against Pakistan today (Tuesday) in the second One-day International of the five-match ODI series. The game is all set to begin at 4:00 pm (PST) at Kingsmead Cricket Ground in Durban city.

Proteas will look to level the series in this match-up against the two big names of short format.

In the first of the five ODIs between hosts South Africa and Pakistan, it was the visitors who drew first blood thanks to bold performances from Imam Ul Haq and Mohammed Hafeez.

While Pakistan are over the moon with the win they would be wary of a wounded Proteas side who might be wondering where it all went wrong.

With Durban hosting the second ODI, the stage is set is for another nerve-wracking match between two of the best teams in the shorter formats.

Pakistani side will be hoping that their out-of-form skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed gets back in his fine nick as soon as he can to help the batting line-up pile up more runs against the prolific SA bowling.

Conditions

The forecast suggests optimal playing conditions on match-day. Teams batting first have had more success at Kingsmead over the years.

In the last ODI at Kingsmead, two spinners, India’s Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav, claimed five scalps between them. It suggests the surface might have something in it for the slow bowlers.
