2nd T20: Pakistan Win Toss, Opt To Bat First

Edinburgh (June 13, 2018): Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat against Scotland in the second and final T20 international today, after beating the hosts by 48 runs in the series opener in Edinburgh on Tuesday.

Yesterday, Opting to bat first against Scotland, Pakistani team scored a total of 204 runs over the loss of 4 wickets, in response to which, the team of Scotland could only score 156 runs over the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs.

Scotland scored 56 runs in the opening partnership of captain Kyle Coetzer and George Munsey, Coetzer scored 31 whereas Munsey scored 25 runs, before getting bowled by Mohammad Nawaz and Hassan Ali respectively.

After that, Shadab Khan got two consecutive wickets of Richie Berrington with 3 runs and Calum MacLeod with 12 runs- sent players back to pavilion making it difficult for Scotland team. Later, Dylan Budge tried to retaliate but couldn’t last longer than 24 runs in front of Amir.Michael Leask and Matthew Cross leads the scoreboard further, by scoring 43 runs in the partnership which was ended soon by Hassan Ali.

After winning the toss, national cricket team opted to bat first. The openers started the innings with boundaries, however, they could not maintain the pace. Pakistan lost first three wickets only at 87.On this stage, senior Shoaib Malik Joined captain Sarfraz Ahmed and accelerated the scoreboard.

Both hit all around the wicket and their 96-run partnership, the platform for a big total. Shoaib Malik made blistering 57 on just 27 balls with the help of five might sixes.After the departure of Shoib, Sarfraz Ahmed thrashed Scotland bowlers and put Pakistan in commanding position. He made undefeatable 89 on 49 balls with the help of three huge sixes and ten fours.
