2nd Test: Pakistan Fightback After Batting Collapse Before Lankan Attack

KARACHI: Despite all out on a very low total of 191 Muhammad Abbas and Shaheen Shah Afridi Created an opportunity to Pakistan to fight back as Sri Lanka were 64 after losing three crucial wickets on Thursday day one of the second Test in Karachi.

After a watchful start with the bat, Pakistan did manage to make their mark with the ball. They needed wickets and they managed to get three including the big wicket of Dimuth Karunaratane.

Only 3 pacers were used and Abbas was the pick of them picking up a couple while Shaheen had one. Giving the hosts hope and chance of a fightback.

The hosts won the toss and elected to bat but it was a decision that backfired as apart from Abid Ali, Babar Azam and Asad Shafiq none of the batters got into double figures. And from 127/3 they were wrapped up for just 191. The scorecard had some respectability courtesy of the fifties from Babar and Asad.

What a day of cricket it was. It did not have runs but the bowlers have had a good day. 13 wickets have fallen in the day and that in itself tells the story. This match is evenly poised so far, Sri Lanka have their noses in front but only just.
