Sindh Demands To Make Own Gas Distribution Company

Karachi (October 03, 2017): Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday demand that Federal government should allow Sindh Government to make sindh government’s own gas Distribution Company.While discussing matters related to gas distribution in Pakistan with Chairman Board of Investment Miftah Ismail who called him here on Tuesday.

The chief minister said that the SEZ Khairpur was located on the main National Highway in the district Khairpur. It is the best location and its entire infrastructure has been developed, only gas is required to formally launch it,” he said, adding that it would strengthen provincial economy and generate employment opportunities.

Murad Ali Shah demanded the share for provincial government from the Sui Southern Gas Company’s (SSGC) transmission line. He said that people of Sindh has right to get their due share from the transmission line laid in Sindh. He also demanded ownership of the provincial government on the SSGC.

Miftah Ismail said that his efforts has borne results and 3.5 mmcf gas has been approved for the SEZ Khairpur.

Federal government has finally approved 3.5 mmcf gas for Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Khairpur, he added.
