At Least Four Killed in Drone Attack Near Pak-Afghan Border

Peshawar (October 16, 2017): At least five people were reported killed in a drone attack,which took place near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Goz Gaddi on Monday.

According to local sources, at least four people have killed in a drone attack near Pak-Afghan border in Goz Gaddi of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas today.

Locals added that at least six missiles were fired at the house.The strike targetted a house near the border in Kurram Agency- one of the seven tribal agencies in Pakistan’s Federally Administered Tribal Areas – following which five bodies were recovered from the rubble, according to local sources.

A militant commander was also reportedly killed in the drone attack.

According to the local sources, the attack took place within the territorial limits of Pakistan.Prior to this, a suspected US drone strike on September 15 killed three and injured two in Kurram Agency, a political agent had said.

In March, two people were killed in Lower Kurram Agency in what was said to be the first drone strike under US President Donald Trump’s administration.The first US strike under the Trump administration killed two men riding a motorbike in Kurram, while the second suspected attack happened in late April in North Waziristan, one of seven tribal districts stretching along the Afghan border.
