According to the details, Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has departed for London, where he will attend high level party huddle to discuss future strategy, related to his brother Nawaz Sharif’s return to Pakistan.

Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will also leave from Jeddah for London today. Currently he is in Maddinah Munnwarah. The former prime minister, who is currently in Saudi Arabia was expected to return to Pakistan, but now he is most likely to go to London today.

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will also leave for London. It was learnt that some other members of the federal cabinet will also be a part of the PML-N entourage gathering in London.

Sources said that Shahbaz Sharif can stay in London for three to four days. The party gathering will discuss political affairs of the country.According to sources, the former premier will arrive in Pakistan at the start of November.

Earlier, according Nawaz’s son Hasan, the former prime minister was to return to Pakistan on Wednesday (Oct 25) after a brief stay in Saudi Arabia. Nawaz had been in London to spend time with his wife since October 5 until October 23, when he left for Jeddah.

On Oct 26, the accountability court hearing corruption references against the Sharif family issued bailable warrants for former premier Sharif in two references. The references against the Sharif family pertain to the Azizia Steel Mills and Hill Metals Establishment, their London properties and over dozen offshore companies owned by the family.

The hearing was then adjourned until November 3, with the last chance for the former premier to ensure his presence in court.

Yesterday Former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar on Saturday said that there is no division or crisis in the ruling party — Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N).

This was the second time, during the day, that the senior PML-N leader hinted at the party’s unity while admitting to the internal conflicts that have plagued the party of late.

Nisar said that criticism on judiciary is neither in Nawaz Sharif’s favour nor party’s. He reiterated that he did not take up offers to lead a ministry after Nawaz’s disqualification owing to difference of opinion with the leadership. The former minister further denied there was any forward block in the making within the party.

During an earlier address in Murree, Nisar had said that he along with the former prime minister and PML-N president Nawaz Sharif had laid the founding stone of the party.

On the other hand, PML N most vocal opponent, Aitzaz Ahsan said that in his recent statement that former PM Nawaz Sharif was not returning to Pakistan because he feared that he would be treated the same way former Sindh minister Sharjeel Memon was.Ahsan said it was ridiculous to see that Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi called on Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif instead of it being the other way around.

Speaking on Sharif’s return to the country, the PPP leader said people were talking about the PML-N chief striking a pact similar to the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO). “But who will Nawaz strike such a deal with?” he asked.

“Only [PM] Shahid Khaqan Abbasi can do that. Otherwise, nobody can help Nawaz now.”Ahsan said corruption cases in Punjab and Sindh were major challenges for the newly appointed National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman.

“Despite being indicted, Sharif is roaming freely but Sharjeel Memon, who is yet to be indicted, is behind bars,” he added.
