MQM-P Lawmakers Meet Zardari to Discuss Political Matters

Islamabad (November 8, 2017): In the wake of MQM-P and PSP alliance, certain disgruntled MQM-P leaders have met ex-President Asif Ali Zardari for probable inclusion in PPP, according to sources on Wednesday.

MQM-P lawmakers Salman Mujahid and Dr. Fauzia Hameed arrived at Islamabad’s Zardari House where the two discussed political matters with the PPP Co-chairman.

It should be recalled that similar incidents occurred a few days ago, when MQM-P Senator Khushbakht Shujaat and MNA Ali Rashid had met Zardari.

According to sources, few more leaders of MQM-P are expected to join PPP in near future.

The development is important as top brass of Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) have agreed to move into General Elections 2018 with a political alliance with Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQMP).

Sources informed that the leaders of the both parties have decided in principle to join hands for the solution of Karachi problems.

A working formula that would see both parties working together in an effort to resolve Karachi’s issues including delimitation was reportedly agreed upon.

According to reports, the working formula is based on the MQM-P not demanding resignations of party members who switched to the PSP.Reservations over the recently announced census results are likely to be expressed by both leaders.

The decision to hold the press conference was taken by leaders of both parties last night, while talks were underway since the last two months.

The MQM-P, earlier today, held a meeting of the party’s high command at its PIB office. Arriving for the meeting, MQM-P chief Farooq Sattar said that the party is the name of a movement, as he hinted towards a development taking place.

“People are saying something is happening – something should happen”.

PSP Chief Mustafa Kamal neither accepted nor denied the rumours of a possible merger between the two parties.“We will let you know when the time comes,” he smiled and said to the reporters around midafternoon today (Wednesday).

Earlier on Tuesday in a press conference, PSP Chairperson Kamal vowed to create a bloc against the MQM-P in the legislative assemblies with the elected representatives that have switched over to his party.

Kamal has earlier said that MQM ‘is an enemy of Pakistan.’ He had claimed that ‘muhajirs are vulnerable’ because of the party.
