Web-Desk (January 20, 2018): The US tech giant, Apple reveals that it has been reducing the performance of older iPhones with lower capacity batteries to prevent unexpected shutdowns.
This statement came about after Shanghai Consumer Council queried Apple about the reason for phone’s performance quality and remedial measures.
Consumer complaints about battery quality and unexpected shutdowns had risen from 960 in 2015 to 2600 in 2017.
In a statement released by Apple, it shared that it has launched a software update in iOS which will improve power management during peak workloads.
The update will manage the maximum performance of the phone in order to stop it from shutting down.
However, in particular cases, users may experience longer launch times for apps and other reductions in performance.
