Islamabad (February 27, 2018): Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi says the government will support the film industry for its revival.
He said this while talking to a delegation of prominent artists including producers in Islamabad.
Issues related to the industry including films, TV, theater came under discussion.
Minister of State for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb on this occasion recounted various steps taken by the government for the revival of the industry and for the welfare of the artists’ community.
These included among others tax exemption, tax rebate, construction of cinemas, establishment of film finance fund, film studio on public private partnership and declaring this sector as an industry.
The delegation appreciated various steps taken by the government for the support and revival of the industry.
The prime minister directed the information ministry to include the charter of demand from the artist in the films and culture policy.
