4th ODI: Shoaib-led Pakistan To Field First After Winning Toss

JOHANNESBURG: Pakistan have won the toss and have elected to field first against South Africa in the fourth One-day International of the five-match series.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) sources, the Pakistani side is being led by veteran Shoaib Malik today after the skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed was handed a 4-match ban by the International Cricket  Council (ICC) under the cricket governing body’s anti-racism code.

Pakistan have made two changes in this game as Mohammad Rizwan and Usman Khan Shinwari are in for Sarfaraz Ahmed and Hasan Ali. Whereas, for the hosts Proteas, Imran Tahir is in for Tabraiz Shamsi.

The hosts Proteas have a 2-1 lead in this series against Pakistan. Pakistan will be looking to clinch this all-important match to level the series 2-2 and make a strong comeback as a unit.

With the World Cup less than four months away, the two sides will look to go into the tournament in top form.

Moreover, this game marks the annual Pink Day event at The Wanderers, to raise funds for breast cancer awareness, with South Africa victorious in all previous seven editions.

With the rain refusing to die down and the play being stopped twice, South Africa won the match on DLS method, thanks to brilliant innings of 83 not out by Reeza Hendricks.
